Popular southern Africa travel combos

Victoria Falls Zambia makes the perfect beginning or ending to a southern African safari. It’s a familiar combination with Zambia’s South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi National Parks but it’s also close to Botswana’s Chobe River and easily accessed by air from travel hubs – Johannesburg, Cape Town, Windhoek and Maun (Okavango Delta). We’ve listed our most popular southern Africa travel combinations with Victoria Falls Zambia below. If you are planning to travel to East Africa, then Victoria Falls works just as well. Contact us for more information.

Chobe National Park

The Chobe River, Botswana’s famous dry-season lifeline for thousands of elephant and buffalo is just a morning’s drive from Victoria Falls Zambia. You can visit on a day trip or add a few nights in Botswana onto your itinerary and include the magical Okavango Delta. Home to year-round game viewing, big cats and excellent bird watching, the Chobe River is at its best in the late dry season (August to October) when wildlife concentrations are very high.

Cape Town

You can fly from Africa’s favourite city to Victoria Falls Zambia via Johannesburg: Table Mountain in the morning; Victoria Falls in the afternoon.  Known as the ‘Mother City’, Cape Town offers something for everyone: active outdoor pursuits such as hiking, paragliding and biking tours to wildlife-based experiences like shark-cage diving and whale watching. Book a few days to fit it all in: other top attractions are Robben Island, the V&A Waterfront, Boulders Beach penguin colony and Cape Point.

Kruger/Sabi Sands

Kruger’s private reserve – the Sabi Sands – delivers some of Africa’s best Big 5 game viewing; even leopards are seen regularly. Accommodation ranges from value for money to super-deluxe, and guests enjoy morning and afternoon plus activities possible only in this exclusive-use reserve: spot-lit night drives, guided walks and off-road driving for special sightings. Several of Sabi Sand’s lodges are ideal for honeymooners and romantic travel; others welcome families with children.
