Days 1 – 3: Moremi Magic
From Maun Airport you’ll be flown by shared air charter to the Khwai River area of the Okavango Delta’s Moremi Game Reserve. A sprawling, untamed landscape of woodland and waterways, it is one of Botswana’s best game viewing regions, home to elephants, big cats, buffalo and wild dog. Your accommodation is glorious Khwai River Lodge, one of the most sophisticated tented camps in Botswana. Here you’ll find luxuries ranging from a spa and video library to Wi-Fi and a gym. Located on the edge of Moremi in its own private concession, Khwai River Lodge conducts night drives and guided walks along with morning and afternoon drives. You’ll also be offered stargazing sessions and guided visits to local villages.
Days 4 – 6: Secret Savute
A short flight takes you to the centre of the Chobe National Park and the Savute region. Fed by an ephemeral river, Savute is a place of open grassland and shady woods where lions do battle with hyenas and giant bull elephants drift silently across the landscape. Morning and afternoon game drives are the main activity here though you can visit a rock art site too. Your accommodation, Savute Elephant Lodge, is the perfect base from which to explore the area in complete comfort. Its chalets overlook the Savute Channel and its attendant animals while few other lodges in the area can match its generous facilities.
Days 7 – 8: A Victoria Falls Hideaway
It’s a short flight to the Chobe River where you’ll switch over to a comfortable vehicle for the transfer across the border and into Zambia. Your destination is Sussi and Chuma Lodge, set a few miles upstream from Victoria Falls itself and built into the canopy of giant riverside trees. All the thrills and spills of Victoria Falls can easily be arranged via the lodge but you may want to spend time at this private retreat, enjoying spa treatments, riverside walks and table-for-two dining.
Day 9: The Journey Ends
A road transfer takes you to Livingstone Airport and your onward connection. If you’d like to add an extra day or two in Victoria Falls, just let us know and we’ll make all the necessary bookings.
