Days 1 – 3: An Island Hideaway
An intimate tented camp with a private island location in the middle of the Zambezi River, Islands of Siankaba has long been a honeymoon favourite in Victoria Falls. With its luxurious teak and canvas suites set above the Zambezi, the camp has an unbeatable location and offers its guests island picnics and private sunset cruises as well as access to all the activities in the Victoria Falls area. You’ll have time to settle in and start planning your next two days here – starting perhaps with a visit to the lodge’s air-conditioned massage suite.
Days 4 – 6: To the Lower Zambezi
Leaving Victoria Falls after breakfast, you rejoin the Zambezi River at the Lower Zambezi National Park, one of Zambia’s premier big game destinations and an important stronghold for animals such as elephant, lion, hippo and buffalo. A recently-opened accommodation, Amanzi Camp sits on the river, offering not just beautiful views from its tented suites but a personalised safari programme based on your interests. Choose from morning, afternoon and evening game drives as well as boating, canoeing and guided walking safaris.
Days 7 – 9: The Luangwa Experience
The big game experience continues at Luangwa River Camp, set on a private game management area and gateway to one of the most productive parts of the South Luangwa National Park. Like at Amanzi, you will be able to tailor-make your safari at Luangwa River Camp, choosing from game drives, walks and boating. There is also an opportunity to visit a local village and colourful market for an insight into the other side of life in Luangwa. Your brick and thatch cottage has sliding doors that open to reveal a private viewing deck and Luangwa River views.
Days 10 – 13: The Lake of Stars
Enjoying a private location in the Lake Malawi National Park and with a name which translates as ‘rest well’, Pumulani Lodge is the perfect finale to your romantic journey. Its 10 villas are scattered under trees, each with a large deck from which to enjoy the lake views, and you can choose to be as active or not as you please. There are opportunities to go snorkelling and scuba diving in the lake’s clear waters or mountain biking and kayaking around its green shores as well as a private beach to relax on and star-lit night skies to gaze up at.
Day 14: The Journey Ends
There is time for breakfast and a last look at the lake before you sit back on your transfer to Lilongwe International Airport. It is a pleasant drive through green and rural Malawi, arriving at the airport in good time for your further travel arrangements and the end of the tour.
