Holidays Tailored just for You!

Home to Cape Town – the world’s must-see city – as well as the Big Five, whales and winelands, South Africa is a natural choice for travellers seeking diversity, comfort and experience.

A South Africa holiday can be a simple week in Cape Town, taking advantage of the Mother City’s fine offerings – Table Mountain, Cape Point, and the penguins of Boulders Beach. Adding on the Whale Coast and Winelands is easy and we recommended doing it yourself on a self-drive tour. Continue the self-drive adventure along the Cape coast and have a Garden Route holiday, complete with Knysna oysters and Plettenberg Bay cocktails. More tropical coastlines wait in KwaZulu Natal, a province where you can also tour excellent game reserves as well as haunting colonial battlefield sites.

Adding a Big Five safari to your South Africa holiday is a choice between different destinations. The malaria-free destinations of a Garden Route safari and the Madikwe Private Game Reserve are popular with honeymooners and families with children. But South Africa’s heavyweight game viewing is in the Kruger and Sabi Sands. And it’s in the private Sabi Sands Reserve that you’ll find Africa’s best Big Five safaris balanced by some of its most sophisticated safari lodges.

And with Johannesburg as the travel hub, South Africa combines easily with Botswana, Victoria Falls and Mozambique’s Indian Ocean islands to make an epic holiday. Browse our recommended South Africa holidays below – all are tried-and-tested itineraries ready to go – or simply contact us and we’ll create an itinerary based on your needs and budget.

WHAT TO DO

THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN SA

1. Visit the Mother City

Whether you hike or take the cable car up, the best view of Cape Town is from the top of Table Mountain but leave time for Robben Island, the V&A Waterfront and Kirstenbosch Gardens.

2. Catch the View at the Cape

Cape Point is often wild & windy but you can’t get further south-west in Africa. Dramatic views, baboons & antelope plus penguins at nearby Boulders Beach – a great day out.

3. Go on a Big 5 Safari

The very best Big 5 game viewing is at the Sabi Sand but there are other great Big 5 destinations, many of which are malaria-free & perfect for families.

4. Sip a Sauvignon

Or a Shiraz … South Africa has been producing wine for 350 years & you’ll be spoilt for choice in the majestic mountains of the Cape Winelands. Expect stunning views & heavenly food too.

5. Watch Whales … or Sharks

The Whale Coast’s seasonal whale watching is famously land-based but you’ll need to get onto a boat – or even better, into a cage – to see great white sharks.

6. Luxury Train Travel

Luxury train travel takes on a new dimension with five star luxury hotels on rails. Multi-day train journeys take in South Africa but also go as far as Dar es Salaam.

7. Hit the Beach

Cape Town has the most fashionable beaches but if it’s a proper beach holiday you want, head for the Garden Route or KwaZulu Natal for warm water, easy swimming & safari add-ons.

8. Bring the Kids

Safari camps designed for families, malaria-free game reserves, sunny holiday resorts, sandy beaches & easy logistics … South Africa was made for family holidays.

An incredibly well organised tour with no hassles whatsoever.

Safari Online understood our needs and was able to present us with sensible options to choose from. It was evident that this tour operator has knowledgable and experienced agents who can arrange a seemless tour. We were provided with a professional online itinary which was comprehensive and easy to use, knew exactely what to expect, and encountered no stumble blocks along the way.

Professional, quick and top of the edge service!!!

From the very first contact we’re very happy about the respond time and quality of information from safari-online.com. Based on the received first tailor-made quote, which is a weblink with all the details about the flights, photos of the lodges etc. we knew that this is “our” partner for this trip. Our expectations were excelled!!!

Safari Online were extremely efficient and absolutely charming to work with.

Our 28-day itinerary took us to South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. A magnificent and unforgettable adventure. Everything ran smoothly and efficiently from the flights, transfers, rides, connections, etc. Absolutely wonderful! Can’t thank them enough!

Karina was absolutely instrumental to our safari success.

Our experience with Safari Online was excellent. After becoming very frustrated trying to search for a safari destination on our own, we turned to Karina for help and she was a lifesaver.  We had an amazing safari adventure at the lodge–the experience of a lifetime–and are so grateful for her help. We literally couldn’t have done it without her!

Best trip I have ever been on. Highly recommend.

Would highly recommend. Safari online asked questions when booking and were efficient and knew exactly what we were looking for in terms of accommodation and animals were wanted to see. Gave advice on a few little extras with no pressure, which we did and am very grateful which make trip even more exciting. Would definitely recommend booking with them.

It was a safari of a lifetime and exceeded all of our expectations!

Our mom grew up in Central and South Africa so we had visited the continent many times. My sister and I wanted to take our teens and husbands to Africa to experience the magic. We had a limited budget but big and specific expectations and by some miracle Walter was able to manage both.

Walter has always been an excellent communicator and has supported us fully

We have been to Africa for 24 of the last 27 years so know a bit about what is involved. Walter has arranged the details for the last couple of years, and has done a superb job. He is always quick to respond and comes up with answers immediately……..no evasive tactics, always head-on!
