When to Go
Activities can be enjoyed year-round
A straightforward climate – a long dry winter followed by a short wet summer – makes deciding when to travel to Zimbabwe a question of your priorities.
Victoria Falls is in spectacular peak flood during the late summer season – February to May – and at its lowest level in late winter – September to November. Most activities can be enjoyed year-round but the best time for white water rafting is during low water season – August to December.
Remember that peak flood season for Victoria Falls is not prime safari season for the rest of Zimbabwe or the southern African region. Zimbabwe’s best game viewing is from June to October, especially later in the season when game is concentrated around water. This is the best time for destinations like Hwange, Mana Pools and Matusadona.
