- Walk to Victoria Falls from your hotel
Days 1 – 2: An Okavango Experience
A shared charter flight from Maun Airport brings you to one of the delta’s longest-standing camps – Oddballs Enclave. Overlooking the Moremi Game Reserve from its private concession, Oddballs offers a non-mechanised approach to discovering the delta, ensuring the only sounds at camp are those of birds and animals. Your personal guide leads walking and canoe safaris in beautiful landscapes rich in wildlife. Sightings range from elephants and giraffes to tiny frogs and sparkling kingfishers.
Days 3 – 4: The Secret Linyanti
Flying from the Okavango Delta, you’ll soon notice another huge sprawl of wetlands – Linyanti. Once off-limits to tourism, this region of lagoons and floodplains is flanked by open woodland and is exceptionally rich in wildlife. Your guides will be on the lookout for the area ‘specials’ – wild dog and leopard – as well as pointing out an impressive cast of birds. Camp Linyanti provides the tented accommodation and the activities: you’ll enjoy 4X4 game drives as well as river excursions on the lodge’s specially adapted ‘Swamp Cruiser’.
Days 5 – 6: The Savuti Experience
The 4X4 transfer from Camp Linyanti to Camp Savuti goes through the Chobe National Park and can be considered a bonus game drive. Overlooking the flowing Savuti Channel, the camp may have further surprises in store: it’s not unusual to see elephants drinking from the river in front of camp as you settle into your suite. Savuti has an international reputation for game viewing: lions and hyenas battle for supremacy on the savannah; the summer zebra migration brings drama in black and white; wild dogs and cheetah chase down impala. Morning and afternoon game drives take you into the thick of things.
Days 7 – 8: The Smoke that Thunders
After a Savuti breakfast you fly via shared charter to Kasane Airport where a road transfer takes you across the Zimbabwe border to Victoria Falls. Your destination today is Batonka Guest Lodge in Victoria Falls. It is situated 2 km from Victoria Falls Town, which means you can walk to the falls and the friendly staff will make any activity bookings for you.
Day 9: The Journey Ends
Check out of Batonka Guest Lodge Lodge for a transfer to Victoria Falls International Airport and your onward connection. Should you wish to extend your stay in Victoria Falls by another day or two, we can arrange everything.
