Itinerary

Days 1 – 3: A Private Luangwa Safari
Having enjoyed assistance from a tour representative at Lusaka Airport, you fly to Mfuwe, gateway to the South Luangwa National Park. Your destination is Nkwali, an intimate safari camp set on a broad sweep of the Luangwa River with stunning views from the comfort of your king-size bed. There is time for lunch, perhaps a swim in the pool and to freshen up before planning your activities: Nkwali offers game drives, guided walks and boating safaris in a game-rich region of the park. You can go on night drives in Nkwali’s private reserve and even visit a local community, adding a unique aspect to your safari.
Days 4 – 6: Walking at Mana Pools
It’s a journey by air, land and water to get there but Mana Pools is one of the wildest spots left in southern Africa, home to large populations of elephant, buffalo, lion and hippo. John’s Camp sits at the heart of it all, each of its five Meru tents giving you traditional comfort-under-canvas, right down to the hot-water bucket shower in your en suite bathroom. Morning and afternoon game drives deliver dramatic wildlife sightings but the camp’s expert guides offer walking safaris too; there is also the chance to go fly-camping or spend a night under the stars on the camp’s raised sleeping platform.

Days 7 – 8: A Victoria Falls Finale
It is a short flight from Mana Pools to Victoria Falls Airport where a vehicle and driver are waiting to take you into the town of Victoria Falls and Ilala Lodge. One of the town’s original hotels, Ilala has long been a favourite with travellers, not least because of its location a 10-minute walk away from Victoria Falls itself. There is plenty of time to visit the falls and with a full day in store, you can really make the most of Africa’s adventure capital. Activities range from white-water rafting, bungee jumping to sunset river cruises, kayaking adventures, elephant-back safaris and scenic flights.
Day 9: The Journey Ends
Your road transfer to Victoria Falls Airport depends on when your connecting flight is but there will be time for breakfast at the hotel, buy a few last-minute souvenirs and maybe have a last look at Victoria Falls before you leave. This safari ends with your arrival at the airport.
