The most balanced and comfortable months are typically April to June and September to November. During these shoulder seasons in Mauritius, you can expect warm temperatures, lower humidity, plenty of sunshine, and less rainfall than in the peak summer months. These periods are ideal for beach days, swimming, snorkelling, and enjoying the resort’s outdoor experiences without excessive heat.
The Mauritian summer runs from December to March and brings hotter temperatures and higher humidity. While this is a fantastic time if you love tropical heat and warm ocean temperatures, it is also the wettest time of year. Short, heavy showers are common, and January through March falls within cyclone season, which can occasionally bring more unsettled weather. It’s lush, vibrant, and beautifully warm; just slightly more unpredictable.
From May to August, the island experiences its cooler winter months. Temperatures remain pleasant by most standards, but evenings can feel cooler and the southeast trade winds are more noticeable, particularly along the south and east coasts. It’s generally drier than summer, making it a good option if you prefer milder conditions and fewer crowds.
