Best travel period

When to go

The best time to travel is during Namibia’s cooler dry season from May to October. During these months, daytime temperatures are comfortable, skies are clear and conditions are ideal for exploring the remote desert landscapes of Hartmann Valley and the Skeleton Coast region. Wildlife sightings along the Hoanib River are particularly rewarding during the dry season, as desert-adapted animals gather near scarce water sources. The cooler winter months also provide excellent conditions for scenic excursions, cultural visits and unforgettable stargazing beneath Namibia’s pristine night skies.
