The best time to visit Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania together is during the dry seasons from June to September and December to February, with July to September being the most popular and reliable period. In Uganda, these months offer the best conditions for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, with drier forest trails and more predictable travel. In Tanzania, the dry season brings excellent wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources, with the Great Migration river crossings typically occurring from July to September in the northern Serengeti. January and February are also very good months, combining calving season in the southern Serengeti with favorable trekking conditions in Uganda.
The long rainy season from March to May is less suitable due to heavy rains, while October and November can be variable but still possible for travel with fewer crowds.
