This journey blends once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounters, dramatic landscapes and laid-back coastal relaxation for a truly epic East Africa escape.
Total Days: 19 DAYS
The best time to combine Uganda and Tanzania safari & beach is during the dry season from late June to September, with July and August being peak. In Uganda, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking is easiest on dry forest trails, while in Tanzania, wildlife viewing is excellent in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and other parks, and the Great Migration river crossings usually occur in the northern Serengeti. The beaches of Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia Island are sunny, calm, and ideal for swimming and diving. January and February are also excellent for dry conditions and beach weather.
October is a shoulder month: the rains start tapering off in most parts, so some parks may be slightly muddy and wildlife viewing a bit more challenging, but Uganda’s gorilla trekking is still good.
The long rains from March to May and short rains in November are generally less suitable due to muddy roads, higher humidity, and choppier seas.
