Itinerary
Day 1: An Elegant Start
This itinerary has been designed for comfort and convenience and the first day is no exception. Having arrived in Windhoek, you’ll enjoy the warm welcome at Elegant Guesthouse and the opportunity to see a little of Windhoek. Set in a leafy city suburb, the guesthouse has air-conditioned suites and the friendly staff will help you with any local bookings or advice.
Days 2 – 3: Discover the Namib Desert
After breakfast at the guesthouse you’ll transfer to the airport and a flight to the Namib Desert. Your accommodation – Kulala Desert Lodge – lies on a private reserve adjoining the Namib –Naukluft National Park and has a private entrance to the legendary Sossusvlei sand dunes. You’ll be in the company of expert guides and can choose between various activities ranging from hot-air ballooning and quad-biking to game drives and guided nature walks. Your suite offers magical desert views and the chance to sleep on your rooftop for an unforgettable star-lit night.
Days 4 – 5: Adventure Centre – Swakopmund
A short flight takes you to the desert coast and the holiday town of Swakopmund: this is your chance to put Swakopmund’s famous list of adventure activities to the test. Choose from quad-biking, scenic flights, ballooning, sand-boarding and ocean tours or enjoy a taste of local culture on a township and market tour. There is also bird watching, botanical tours and fishing on offer.
Conveniently located near the centre of town, your accommodation is Namib Guesthouse, a 10-minute walk from shops and restaurants. The friendly staff will help you make the right bookings.
Days 6 – 7: A Private Etosha Safari
A flight north takes you to Etosha National Park, Namibia’s wildlife showcase. Your destination however is the adjoining Ongava Private Game Reserve, giving you the advantage of private game drives in Ongava combined with access to Etosha itself – an unbeatable combination!
Your destination is Ongava Tented Camp, set in a private reserve adjoining Etosha giving you easy access to a game-rich area of Etosha plus exclusive wildlife sightings in the reserve. You also enjoy guided walks and spot-lit night drives – activities not permitted in Etosha. Accommodation is in the form of walk-in tented suites with verandas that overlook the sunset and flood-lit waterhole.
Day 8: The Journey Ends
After breakfast at Andersson’s you transfer to the local airstrip for a return flight to Windhoek and the end of the tour. If you’d like to add on other destinations such as Botswana’s Okavango Delta or Victoria Falls, just let us know and we’ll arrange it all.
