Chobe Ballooning from May 2020
Experience Chobe Ballooning, in one of Africa’s great wilderness destinations, the Chobe National Park, epitomises the very best of game viewing, flying over a vast concession known as the Seloko Plains in the Chobe Region of Botswana. The Operational Date will be from 1st May to 15th September 2020 and the cost will be USD395 per person (min 2 passengers). This age old ballooning adventure explores the Chobe Region in a completely unique way offering a 360 degree panoramic view from tree top level to a thousand feet in the air. The balloon safari adds to the diverse list of activities on offer in the Chobe River Region, including game drives & boating safaris and giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a truly life-changing adventure. Location of the Ballooning Safari in Chobe
Situated 45 minutes south of the town Kasane, the Seloko Plains are an important wildlife corridor, extending from Zimbabwe to join up with the Chobe National Park and the Kasane Forest Reserve. A diverse habitat with large tracts of forest opening up into wide grassland plains, the area offers a variety of wildlife species to be viewed from the hot air balloon.

Balloon Ride over Seloko Plains
From the Chobe River Lodges you will be transferred by road to the starting point. The welcoming is followed by a safety briefing and demonstration of the boarding and landing procedures for the balloon, gets you set and ready for take-off! The flight launches just prior to sunrise and will drift across the flood plains with the cool winds of the morning. On a different adventure every morning, the pilot will expertly navigate the balloon using only the winds at various altitudes. From drifting at treetop height to a 1000ft or more, spectacular vistas of the Seloko Plains will unveil themselves as the first rays of sunlight roll across the waters of the flood plains.
After the Ride
After the landing you will be presented with a commemorative flight certificates presented by the pilot. Transfer to the five star Kazuma Camp for a lovely breakfast and then you will be dropped off at your lodge again. Entire experience takes approx. 6hrs from pick to drop off.
